2026 Conference 

Seafood New Zealand and the New Zealand Federation of Commercial Fishermen co-hosted their annual conferences at Tākina in Te Whanganui a Tara Wellington, with the Seafood New Zealand conference on May 26 and 27 and the Federation conference on May 28 and 29.Seafood New Zealand and the New Zealand Federation of Commercial Fishermen (Federation) co-hosted their annual conferences at Tākina in Te Whanganui a Tara Wellington, with the Seafood New Zealand conference on May 26 and 27 and the Federation conference on May 28 and 29.

The Seafood New Zealand conference, Realising the Vision, brought together industry leaders, fishers, policymakers and stakeholders for two days of engaging discussion, learning and connection. The programme covered a wide range of topics, from technological innovation and artificial intelligence to the future workforce and recognising the next generation of industry leaders. Delegates also heard from a range of expert panels, including a lively political discussion focused on fisheries policy and the upcoming election. Most importantly, the conference provided an opportunity for our industry to come together, share ideas, celebrate successes and tackle challenges collectively. The strong attendance and engagement throughout the event reflected the passion and commitment that exists across New Zealand’s seafood sector.
