Kaimahi Mātaitai – Process Operator

A process operator carries out processing and packing activities. This could include grading, filleting, shucking, packing and other product handling roles. Process operators can work on land or at sea.

No experience necessary. 

Career Progression

Process operators can jump to many different parts of a seafood business such as a team leader, office based roles, a machine operator or into logistics.

If you are employed in the seafood sector, you can work towards gaining the New Zealand Certificate in Seafood Processing Level 3 – Fish and Fish Products strand.
